Ghost Tours of Downtown Bethlehem
Don't be afraid to join the thousands of guests who have experienced the Moravian Book Shop's Historic Haunts of Downtown Bethlehem Ghost Tours. With only a candle to light your way through the darkened streets, and a knowledgeable guide to lead you
through history, you will experience the past and the paranormal of the gorgeous and (evidently) ghost-filled Historic District of Bethlehem. Fact or Folklore? We'll let you decide!
To date, there are many accounts of the paranormal at the Hotel Bethlehem, one might see a fleeting shadow or transparent figure, or hear the elevator working when no one is aboard - just enough to wonder if some residual memory of a former guest is
walking the halls. Perhaps you will suddenly feel a cold or hear your name called; some have reported being tapped on the shoulder, to turn around and find no one there. Ghosts have been seen in the 3rd floor exercise room and lobby areas, the boiler room, kitchen/restaurant area, and Room 932 on the Ninth Floor.
There have been reports of spirit hauntings on the campus grounds and in many of the Moravian College buildings (some of which date back to the mid 1700's). Students and teachers in the Single Brethren's House (Moravian College's Music Department) have
reported cold spots and passing cold winds, doors that open and close unexpectedly, and apparitions of revolutionary era soldiers and nurses. Ghosts of revolutionary soldiers have been seen in full uniform patrolling the grounds of the Pricilla Payne Hurd Campus of Moravian College. Comenius Hall is haunted by a young male who had to interrupt his education to fight in World War I. The spirit of a young female, Alicia, who was killed by her boyfriend in her sorority house, has been seen in the attic rooms of this building.
